Here are three quick and easy ways to increase your web site profits overnight. If you aren't currently using all three methods, then you're leaving money on the table.

Why lose profits you could have earned so easily?

Profit Booster #1: Pop-Up Boxes

Visitors claim to hate these pop-ups with a passion, yet they've been proven in testing to work time and time again for a majority of web sites. A pop-up box is a second browser window (usually smaller than the first) which pop-up so that they now have two browser windows (one at your main page and one showing the popup information you want displayed).

The main purpose that pop-ups have proven themselves very effective in is in generating responders for an ezine or for an email course delivered in a follow-up manner. They have been shown in our tests and the tests of others to sometimes increase your respondents by 300% or more.

Obviously, since tests prove that more people respond using the pop-ups than are annoyed by them, then you should be using one on your site.

The code I currently use on my web sites is a pop-up on exit code. This means that the pop-up appears as people are leaving the web site. I want to try to capture their email address if I wasn't able to get them to order. I then use a small code to add to my order form and other links on my site so the pop-up ONLY appears as people are leaving.

I don't have time to help people personally with installing the code, but you can see the basic code I'm using explained on this page:

Profit Booster #2: Up-Sell On Order Form

This method can increase the immediate sales value of your visitors, but it does rely on you using the right type of order forms (speak with your tech support people on this option if you have any questions about it).

What this up-sell entails is to offer an upgrade option on the product you are selling. For example, yearly newsletter subscriptions would often offer a one year subscription for $149. Then, once you got to the order form, they could offer a one year subscription for $149, a two year subscription for $247, and a three year subscription for $297.

You've convinced the prospect to order a $149 product, now they have the option of saving $150 by buying a three year subscription for $297. The customer gets a good deal and saves money, and you double your profits immediately.

With three year options as above, the normal statistics show customers would normally split between all three options evenly. In the example above, this would compute to an average purchase price of $231. An average profit increase of $82 per order would be an incredible profit increase for zero additional expense and work. It equals more immediate profits for the bottom line.

For other types of products, it has been proven you can easily sell a 25% upgrade option on the order form. For example, with an information product, you could sell an audio tape set for $97...and then on the order form give them the option of adding a video and a consultation for only $30 extra.

The key is to make the upgrade such a good deal that a majority of the customers will purchase the upgrade option. Give them $300 of value for only $30 extra. By doing this, you can often get a 50% to 80% buy rate on the upgraded version and increase your profits immediately.

If you want to see other examples of this process in action, watch TV offers. They will offer you one item for $19.95 or three items for only $29.95. Then, when you call in and order, they let you know about the extra special offer good only today for $10 additional. Every step in the entire process relies on upgrade offers. Direct response TV advertising is so expensive that it is essential that they have these upgrades to stay in business.

You could also simply use an "upgrade" option checkbox on the order form so people can upgrade their order if they like for the small additional fee. Give them a short paragraph or two highlighting the upgrade and then leave it at that.

Profit Booster #3: Immediate Backend Sales

This is very similar to the up-sell, but it is used right after their purchase. For a long time it has been considered the normal way of doing business to include an additional offer to ride along with any orders you are currently fulfilling.

If someone orders a pair of jeans from you, then you will include a sales letter for a new shirt in the box with the order itself. This additional backend offer won't cost you much to include (since the postage is already taken care of). All you have to do is pay to print out the sales letters for all of your customers.

What if you are in a digital delivery only business? You only sell digital products which don't need to be delivered.

You can follow the same technique with a few little modifications. The moment someone orders the product from you, give them an additional product offer on the thank you page where they download the product. Make this new offer only good for 30 days after someone buys the digital product itself.

Send them a coupon by email for other products you offer good only for 10 to 30 days. Contact them again by email 3 days or so later and make sure they were able to download the product and ask if they have any questions.

On the seventh day you could then give them an additional downloadable bonus and tell them about a special product you have which they could save 20% since they are a very important customer to you.

If you don't have any other products to offer them, then joint venture with another company to offer their products as a backend to your list. You can either offer them from an affiliate program or contact a person who has a product you want to sell to your list and see if you can get them to offer a special deal to your customers only.

For example, if you would like to make a 50/50 deal with a company see if you can get a $20 discount for customers if you accept only 40% of the profits instead of 50%.

You could also sign up with affiliate programs and set up a monthly follow-up system on all of your customers. You could put together a good free report and then offer an affiliate program's products to your list every month for a year after they buy.
