Answering Service Contracts
When you do a search for answering
service or call center on google or yahoo or any search
engine, you will see listing after listing. After
going into each website you will begin to notice some
patterns that call centers and virtual offices fall
into.
Service Contracts are plentiful on
the net. We here at The Successful Office Group have
never had a contract since our inception. Our deals are
month to month and the way we sell our services is we
simply know they will be staying with us. Why make a
customer sign the typical 3 month or 6 month contract if
we are confident in our services. There is even one
major service on the first page of google that sues
clients that quit before the contract ends.
I personally think this is
insulting to the customers, and had they known the type
of service they would be getting perhaps they would not
have signed the contract to begin with.
If you are stuck in some call
center contract, but the people answering your calls
should be working in a gas station as opposed to an
answering service, then just maybe you have joined the
hundreds of thousand of people who are or have been in
the same boat. We hear the complaint all too often,
and with one exception, it is always the same tune.
Of all of the services out there,
there is this one answering service in Louisiana that
gets high marks among it's clients. People who have come
to us from them have said their service is excellent,
it's just that the features are scarce compared to our
companies.
Make
Sure You Have an Out!
If you are intent on signing with a
company other than our own, just be careful. Read
the fine print and do not accept sub-par representatives
answering your calls. If you are unhappy in any way with
the way your present call center or answering service is
handling your calls, get out. Your business and
your future may rely on it. Every call missed is a call
that could have propelled your company to new heights.
At the very least please make sure
the person who signs you up verbally tells you that you
can opt out in a certain time limit. If they just want
to take your money and run, then you should run in the
opposite direction of that answering service, and do it
at 90 mph.
Reputation & Contracts
There seems to be an interesting
correlation between an answering service with long term
contracts and those without. There are always exceptions
to this rule, but generally if a service forces you to
put down a big deposit and/or sign a contract, something
may be up.
Rule of Thumb:
-
Never Sign a Contract for more than
30 days.
-
Never feel pressured to sign up
NOW, or else you will lose that 'special deal'
Special Deals
There are always going to be
holiday specials, Christmas Sign up Specials, Halloween
discounts and the like. But if the answering service you
are looking into has this special that never leaves
their site, and you get the rep on the phone and they
tell you it is about to end, run! That is a sure fire
sign that something is up.
