Strange People in
the Call Center There are so many characters
hovering around in call centers these days. Once again I
had the pleasure of helping out HR with new hires. Once
again I am amazed at the stupidity or audacity of people
looking for a job. If the ad for employment says you
need to type 60 wpm just to get an interview - why do
these people look so stunned when we escort them to a
computer on arrival to take a typing test? It's just
lunacy if you ask me? They always say the same things
too - ' I didn't know there would be a typing test'.
Like are you serious? You not knowing that there was a
typing test to get a job as an answering service rep at
our company doesn't stop you from knowing that we need
60wpm. It is in all of our ads after all. So why waste
your time and ours?
Answering Services
and Call Centers Galore
There are so many con-artists or
just plain horrible services out
there that you really need to pay close attention to the
signals given by your prospective answering service or
call centers. Check out this video from a guy who spent
a lot of $ , or wasting it on call centers in his
country. Then the pitch.
I feel bad for that guy. To make so
many payments to what he thought would be a call center
that would help him and his company, to being just a
waste of resources. That is the experience of so many
companies out there. Question everything we always say.
Ask questions about the company, the reps who will be
answering your calls, their policies etc.

Google
Conquest in the Search Engine War
Can anyone truly doubt
the complete dominance Google has over internet search?
Just 4 or 5 days ago a report came out that Google now
controls an incredible 63% of searches. That's up from last
May when they only had 47 percent of the market share of
searches. Now please correct me if I'm wrong, but can you call
this anything but domination. Here's the article at
WebProNews.
Here are the numbers, for
those of you who are too lazy to click on the link and read
the article in it's entirety. You lazy creatures.
I don't know what this all means
for the war of the search engines, but Google seems to
be taking them all out. I know there are those that
think this is all wrong. Ask.com will come up with them
being the feeders of search results for some other well
known sites that if added together account for 8-10% of
market share. The numbers for each of these claims don't
add up if the figures for Google are correct. So only
time will tell on this one.
