The FairTax Book, a
must see
An idea that is spreading like wildfire in the minds of
Americans is a fair tax.
The fair tax will eliminate federal income taxes, corporate
taxes, Social Security taxes and Medicare taxes, as well as
the gift tax and estate tax. What we will have in their
place is a nationwide revenue-neutral 23 percent sales tax on
all transactions.
This one bill, which will be up for a vote this year, will
even the playing field out there and not penalize those who
are productive. Only consumption will be taxed so there would
be no need for an intrusive I.R.S. , at least in terms of
individuals.
We Americans waste almost 6 billion hours a year in compliance
time and figuring out our taxes. The cost to our economy on
compliance with the present tax code alone is hundreds of
billions of dollars. Imagine how fast our economy would grow
if we freed up hundreds of billions of dollars instantly.
Entrepreneurs all over the United States would welcome this
with open arms.
For our own business, we will probably multiply in size in
just a few short years as the need for our answering service
and virtual office programs multiply as well. Already we
here in America are the most industrious people on the planet.
If we could get the government off of our backs, we can grow
at ridiculous rates. I can see years in a row with 7 - 9%
growth as financing is redistributed by the people and the
extra hundreds of billions of dollars back in the pockets of
people go to work.
As they say, all boats will be lifted and who could be against
such a thing? The politicians of course. You see it is also
about control. The government and certain politicians in both
parties (more so in the Democratic Party) like the idea of
income redistribution. You can hear them on television
constantly with their flashy catch phrases like " The
Distribution of wealth in the U.S. isn't fair". Well if
you just look at that little statement you can see the problem
immediately. There isn't any 'distribution' of wealth in the
United States. People make their own way and the only
people who get income 'distributed' to them are those who are
on government programs for whatever reason. Does
it not make sense that the populists in both parties will see
to it that as many of their supporters are out there as
possible?
The ramifications of this are obvious. We have one party - the
Democrats that have a vested interest in more and more people
on welfare or government assistance of some kind. For these
people and most people will always vote their pocketbooks. If
you get money every month that you didn't earn yourself,
you will always vote for the politician or political party who
gives that money to you. The more proper way to look at
it though is they are the politicians or political parties
that literally steal the money for their pet interests.
On the other side of the aisle it's the same. The Republicans
cater to their voters and do the same things, just with
different groups. This is the curse of a free people and
Democratic nations in particular. The people will
continue to vote for those who can give them more and more,
taken from 'them', whomever that may be. The end
result though is your own taxes do go up and your standard of
living will suffer regardless as all groups continue to gain
more and more from 'them'.
What are we as loyal patriotic Americans to do then? Educate
ourselves and pay attention to what the politicians say.
Nothing happens in a vacuum and you can see right through both
the Republican and the Democratic positions. In this
internet age people are in fact getting smarter and better
informed. The old media based in bias and supporting failed
economic policies will continue to lose ground to the new
media, led by Fox News, the Bloggers and the internet in
general.
I
have faith in the American people and sincerely believe that
we will all wake up long before we go further down the road to
socialism, as France and Germany have. One last thing on
this, it is interesting to note that these nations are dying
economically with huge unemployment rates. Germany as of today
is well over 9% unemployed, and France is simply a basket case
with a real unemployment rate well above 12%. They though
claim around 10%.
article. The French government considers its
hundreds of thousands of people who don't work but who are in
'training' to work, or on 'extended vacations' as employed.
How funny are the French? More importantly how sad is it that
we have one party here in the United States that actually
looks to France and their socialized medicine as models for
America. That is the really scary thing as the
march towards socialism continues here in our supposedly free
market based economy. But I still have faith and
hope you do too.
