Zeugma Systems Inc., a venture-backed company developing a telecommunications system for next generation, high speed broadband networks, today announced the
addition of Mr. Mehdi Sif to its executive team as Vice President,
Marketing.
    Mehdi joins the Zeugma Systems team from Alcatel-Lucent where he was
Director, Triple Play Solutions Marketing. In that capacity he played an
instrumental role in crafting and executing Alcatel-Lucent's Triple Play
Service Delivery Architecture marketing strategy. He will be based in the
San Francisco area, adding to Zeugma's established presence there.
    "Mehdi brings a strong track record of broadband industry and triple
play thought leadership to his new role," said Andrew Harries, Zeugma
Systems President and CEO. "His strategic and marketing insights are a
significant complement to the Zeugma team".
    Mehdi has previously held multiple senior product line and marketing
management positions at Juniper Networks for core routing platforms, Nortel
Networks for VPN and Security solutions and Bay Networks for enterprise
routing. He holds a BA, in computer science from UMLV Paris, and an MBA in
Management of Technology from the Worcester Polytechnic Institute, in
Massachusetts.

    -   Jeff Dillabough, Vice President of Engineering and formerly Director
        of Product Development at PMC-Sierra and HP.
    -   Justin Currie, Vice President, Finance, administration and supply
        chain and formerly director of finance at Creation Technologies Inc.,
        a leading independent contract electronic manufacturer.
    -   Rick Sequerth, Vice President, Sales and formerly in sales leadership
        roles at Hatteras Networks, Crescent Networks, Stratacom and Primary
        Access.
    -   Wayne Shackelford, Vice President, Sales and former head of sales at
        Verilink, Newbridge USA and Micom.
    -   Tom Meehan, Vice President, Product Management, previously Director
        of Product Management at Redback Networks and at Wellfleet/Bay
        Networks/Nortel.
    -   Mehdi Sif, Vice President, Marketing, formerly Director, Triple Play
        Solutions Marketing at Alcatel-Lucent.
    In the summer of 2006 Zeugma Systems announced the completion of its
US$15.75 million Series A financing. The financing was led by San
Francisco-based Granite Ventures and syndicated by Ventures West, Yaletown
Venture Partners, GrowthWorks Capital Ltd., BDC Venture Capital and Zeugma
management and staff. The funding is being used for development of the
company's first commercial system release, to develop business
opportunities and to prepare for forthcoming trials. The company's product
plans remain confidential.
