The thing that caught the eye of your truly is their wearable com badge that reminds me of Star trek. Ever see the communicators, in Star Trek the Next Generation. Not the flip communicators that became the model for our cellular industry.

Vocera's badges are described by their people as:

The Vocera Communications Badge is a wearable device that weighs less than two ounces and can easily be clipped to a shirt pocket or worn on a lanyard. It enables instant two-way voice conversation without the need to remember a phone number or manipulate a handset.

The Vocera Communications Badge is controlled using natural spoken commands. To initiate a conversation with Jim and Mary, for example, the user would simply say, "Conference Jim Anderson and Mary Guscia." In addition, when a live conversation is not necessary, text messages and alerts can be sent to the LCD screen on the back of the Vocera Communications Badge.

I always thought how cool it would be to have just such a communicator for myself.

Once this technology is perfected over the next few years, the ramifications for the answering service and call center industry becomes evident.  Just imagine call center reps walking around the office, able to get any call right to their com badges. I mean if you really think about this communication platform, you can start to see the possibilities for an answering service immediately.
