I Dropped My RAZR Cell Phone
In The Toilet Bowl... And Saved It
I wasn't careful. It was early
morning. I was daydreaming. I was getting dressed in the
bathroom and in the process my RAZR phone slipped out of my
jeans back pocket and dropped into the toilet bowl. In a split
second my RAZR phone was submerged entirely by water.
Here's what I did. It may save
your phone too, but you have to act fast.
Immediately remove the RAZR
phone from the water and switch it off. The next step is to
quickly remove the battery using the access door at the back
of the cell phone.
You should now remove the sim
card as quickly as possible. Removing the sim card will open
up a space at the back of the phone which will enable you to
dry the inside of the phone more efficiently.
After removing the battery and
sim card, you should vigorously shake out any loose water from
your phone. Now take a hair dryer and dry the inside of the
phone. Point the dryer into all open areas of the RAZR
cellphone front and back.
Point the hair dryer directly
into the void created by the sim card. Be patient. You should
keep the hair dryer blowing on the phone for at least 15
minutes. Set your phone down on a counter while doing this so
your hand doesn't get hot. Warning: Do NOT put your cellphone
into the oven to dry it as this may cause permanent damage.
After drying your cellphone for
at least 15 minutes, let it cool down and then reinstall the
sim card and battery.
If your RAZR cellphone was
submerged in water for only a few seconds, you have a good
chance of getting your phone operating again.
Good luck!
